About Adam Baus
Dr. Adam Baus is a Research Assistant Professor with the West Virginia University School of Public Health, Department of Social & Behavioral Sciences with a secondary appointment in the Department of Health Policy, Management, and Leadership, and Director of the West Virginia University Office of Health Services Research, School of Public Health. His work focuses on quality of care and health disparities issues for high-risk, high-need populations. His work often centers on providing technical support and coaching to primary care and community-based partners to leverage clinical and other data sources for analytics, evaluation, quality of care improvement, and health services research needs. He serves as Principal Investigator on numerous, concurrent state-based and out-of-state funded efforts and serves as Co-Investigator for a variety of data-driven efforts focused on improving the quality of patient care and population health outcomes while reducing burden on the health care system.

Research Interests
The West Virginia University School of Public Health, Office of Health Services Research (OHSR) has a long history of commitment to and partnership with state and local public health, primary care, and community health partners to address priority health disparities. The work of OHSR centers on empowering clinic and community partners to achieve the triple aim of enhanced patient-level care, improved population health metrics, and over time a more efficient health care system. Recent peer-reviewed research from OHSR highlights these efforts, and provides context to the health informatics and analytics support provided to primary care and community-based partners. The research trajectory, teaching, and training commitment of OHSR centers on empowering partners to more fully leverage data for decision making, program evaluation, and overall quality of care improvement.

West Virginia Improving the Health of Americans through Prevention and Management of Diabetes, Heart Disease, and Stroke – 1815.
