Research Interests
The major focus of Dr. Theeke's research is the biopsychosocial stressor of loneliness and how it contributes to poor health. She has developed a new intervention for loneliness called LISTEN which is a cognitive restructuring intervention designed to addressed maladaptive thinking that is associated with loneliness. Her team has studied how loneliness relates to inflammatory and immune systems, contributes to multiple chronic conditions, leads to functional decline, and poor quality of life.
