About Travis Knuckles
Travis L. Knuckles is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Occupational and Environmental Health Sciences. His primary research area is in the cardiovascular effects of inhaled pollutants. Specifically, his research attempts to determine the microvascular effects of inhaled particles from heavy industries or of engineered nanomaterials. He serves as an ad hoc reviewer for several toxicology and physiology journals and is on the editorial board for the Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health, Part A. He is an active member in the Society of Toxicology and is Secretary of the Cardiovascular Toxicology Specialty Section. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology (2015). He holds a B.S. in Biology from West Virginia State University and a Ph.D. in Comparative Biomedical Sciences from North Carolina State University. He was also a postdoctoral fellow at Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute.
