Research Interests
Stroke is a human killer and a major cause of serious long-term disability. My research interests focus on understanding the pathophysiology of stroke including blood-brain barrier damage, neuronal death, peripheral inflammation, and long-term plasticity processes. In vivo, ex vivo, and in vitro models are integrated in my research toolbox. My long-term goal devotes to finding out the effective treatments for stroke.
Research Topics
- Stroke and Immunology
- Stroke and mitochondria
- Stroke and micoRNAs
- Brain repair and functional recovery after stroke
