About Jeff Puette
Dr. Jeffrey Puette earned his Doctorate in Medicine at Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, WI and completed his residency at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC from 2009-2012. After his residency, he completed a Fellowship in Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology at Wake Forest and joined the faculty of West Virginia University School of Medicine’s Anesthesiology Department as an Assistant Professor in July 2013. He is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and a Diplomate in Advance Perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography of the National Board of Echocardiography. Dr. Puette has worked extensively with the Simulation Lab, OSCE, mock oral boards, and has given lectures to residents regularly. He has assumed the role of Coordinator for Anesthesiology Simulation for Anesthesiology residents. He also served on the Education Committee and the WV STEPPS (Simulation Training) group. As a member of the Anesthesiology’s Cardiac Team he provides anesthesia services to patients undergoing open heart procedures, provides late call, overnight, and backup coverage, and works with residents and CRNA’s in this setting. Dr. Puette has provided considerable effort into the efforts to initiate a Cardiac Anesthesiology fellowship and currently serves as the Assistant Program Director.
