Kyle Hurst grew up in North Central West Virginia. He obtained a B.S. in Biology at West Virginia University in anticipation of a career in medicine. He learned early on that he wanted to pursue a residency in Emergency Medicine after performing an externship in Emergency Medicine during first year of medical school. During residency training at WVU he was the assistant Chief Resident as a PGY-2 and Chief Resident as a PGY-3. After residency he accepted a clinical position at Ruby Memorial and is the Assistant Medical Director at WVU’s affiliated community hospital (United Hospital Center). He is currently the medical director for a local Police Special Response Team and Tactical EMS team and has a special interest in providing medical training to law enforcement and the integration of Medics into law enforcement systems.
