Stephanie has been a clinical instructor in the West Virginia University School of Nursing since 2015. In addition to teaching nursing students in various settings, Stephanie is a faculty facilitator in the Inter-Professional Education Department, working with students and faculty throughout the Health Sciences with the goal of increasing patient safety by improving communication among healthcare providers. In addition to teaching, Stephanie has a faculty practice assignment as a faith community nurse working to improve health outcomes in faith communities. Prior to teaching, Stephanie held a variety of positions at Heiskell King Burns and Tallman of Mon General Hospital, including Nurse Educator and Clinic Review Nurse. She began her nursing career in 2009 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, where she worked in cardiac stepdown after graduating from Penn State, Fayette with an Associate Degree in Nursing. She completed a Master of Science Degree in Nursing from Gonzaga University in 2014 and was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau, International Honor Society for Nursing in 2015. She also holds a Bachelor of Science from Johnson University. She is currently enrolled in the PhD program in the West Virginia University School of Nursing. Research includes palliative care coaching of patient and family caregiver dyads and using the internet to promote health in faith community settings.
