About Spoorthi Sankineni
Spoorthi Sankineni, MD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine, Section of General Internal Medicine. She first started pursuing her interest in the medical field in her home state of Florida. She worked as a research assistant in a biomedical lab at the University of Florida where she was involved in a project studying the effects of cigarette smoke exposure on apoptosis in vascular endothelial cells of the lung. She graduated from a combined BA-MD program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and subsequently completed her Internal Medicine Residency at the West Virginia University. As an Assistant Professor, she is most interested in student and resident teaching.
