My research interests are in surgical education and rural surgery.   We have developed a variety of web-based assessment tools that we use to track operative experience, conference participation, faculty evaluation, and confidence assessments for our Fresh Tissue Training Program.  We are currently evaluating their uses and have published on them.

Rural surgery is another passion of mine.  We are looking at different care delivery strategies for rural America. We have published on the plight of rural surgeons.  We continue to develop educational opportunities and assessments in collaboration with other like-minded surgeons in the country.
