Dr. Russell presented a poster presentation at IARS entitled ‘Severe Hemorrhagic Shock is Associated with Reduced TEG Maximum Amplitude in Human Traumatic Injury.  In addition, Dr. Russell submitted a WVU+kc proposal to study Data Information, Supply Chain, and Logistics in Healthcare.

Dr. Michael Russell is a Clinical Anesthesiologist within the School of Medicine of West Virginia University.  Dr. Russell was awarded his Doctorate Degree in May 1981, and completed his residency at the University of Pittsburgh from July 1982- June 1984.  He completed a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in 1997.  During his career Dr. Russell has served on the faculty of the University of Pittsburgh, Medical College of Virginia, University of Pennsylvania, and Duke University prior to joining the faculty of the WVU Department of Anesthesiology as an Assistant Professor in January 2016.  He obtained time-unlimited certification with the American Board of Anesthesiology in 1987 and board certification in Critical Care Medicine in 2000 with recertification in 2010.  His current rank is Assistant Professor.  Dr. Russell is part of the surgical critical care service.
