David is originally from Griffin, GA and earned his undergraduate degree from Georgia Tech in Mechanical Engineering. From there, he decided to go to medical school and attended the Medical College of Georgia. His hobbies include backpacking, cooking, traveling, clay shooting and spending time with his wife, Meg. David's emergency medicine interests are rural medicine, wilderness medicine, global health and critical care. David chose WVU because of the friendly "family" environment of the Department of Emergency Medicine. He also loved the "excellent faculty/training and access to the wild and wonderful West Virginia wilderness."
