About Apoorv Prasad
Apoorv Prasad, M.D., is currently an assistant professor in the School of Medicine’s Department of Neurology at West Virginia University’s Eastern Campus. Born in India, Dr. Prasad graduated from Grant Medical College in Mumbai, India in 2011. He then completed a trauma surgery rotation at Northwestern University in Chicago Illinois in 2012. Later that year, he began attending University College London where he graduated with a Master’s Degree in Musculoskeletal Sciences. Prasad then began working as a research scholar at Northwestern University, before pursuing physiatry. He then completed an internship at Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx area of New York. Following his time there, Prasad changed careers, accepting a neurology position at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. In 2018, he joined WVU following a Stroke Fellowship for the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. In addition to his current assistant professor role, Prasad was named the Clerkship Director for Neurology in 2019, and the Stroke Medical Director for the Berkeley Medical Center in 2021. Prasad was named the 2021 Clinician of the Year for the Eastern Campus at the conclusion of the 2020-2021 academic year.
