About Samuel Dorn
Samuel O. Dorn, BA, DDS, FACD, FICD, FPFA, is the WVU School of Dentistry Chair of the Department of Endodontics. Dr. Dorn earned his Bachelor of Arts from Queens College (C.U.N.Y.). He graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Dentistry. He continued his education at Nassau County Medical Center in East Meadow, NY where he completed an endodontics residency. Dr. Dorn was a Captain in the Dental Corps of the U.S. Air Force at Bolling AFB in Washington DC.
His specialty board certification with the American Board of Endodontics placed Dr. Dorn in a position to be an ABE Diplomate (1987), Director (1991-1997), Treasurer (1992-1996), Editor of The Diplomate (1992-1997) and Examiner in 2012.
Dr. Dorn has worked in faculty practice in Texas and at private practices in Florida and New York. His clinical experience includes rotations through several departments in General Dentistry with the U.S. Air Force.
Dr. Dorn has led a number of professional organizations as their president. They include International Federation of Endodontic Associations, American Association of Endodontists, Florida Association of Endodontists, South Florida Endodontic Study Club, Greater Hollywood Dental Society, South Florida District Dental Association and West Broward Dental Study Club.
He has also been professionally involved with the American Board of Endodontics, American Association of Dental Research, American Dental Education Association, American Dental Association, Broward County Dental Association, American College of Dentists (Florida section), International College of Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
Internationally, Dr. Dorn has presented in South Korea, Egypt, Mexico, India, Jordan, Brazil, Japan, Guatemala, Ireland, Dubai, Portugal, Thailand, Switzerland, Italy, Peru, Venezuela, Spain, British Columbia, Israel, England, France and the Netherlands.
