Why did you choose WVU? I first became interested in WVU because I’m interested in rural medicine, and not many programs offer their residents an opportunity to rotate at a rural ED like WVU does. I also found WVU to be a good “combination” program. I get the academic hospital experience of a wide variety of pathologies at Ruby, the community hospital experience at UHC and the resource-limited hospital experience at St. Joe’s. When I interviewed here, that really sealed the deal! Everyone was so nice and honestly interested in one another’s lives. The “family vibe” of this program was obvious as I watched the residents and faculty interact with one another throughout the day. Ultimately, I wanted to commit the next 3 years of my life to a place with nice people, so I came to WVU!
Brief bio: When I’m not working, I enjoy hanging upside down, reading, running, watching Netflix, playing cards, cross-country skiing, hiking, cooking, playing board games and learning to quilt.
