About Kathryn Oppenlander
"Katie is originally from Troy, Michigan. She grew up playing multiple sports to include soccer and volleyball. She completed her undergraduate studies in kinesiology and movement science at the University of Michigan. Following undergrad, she moved 45 minutes south to Toledo, Ohio where she completed her medical degree. Upon completion of medical school, Katie was activated as a Captain in the Army and completed residency in family medicine at Fort Hood, Texas. Her love of sports and interest in sports related injuries ultimately resulted her to choose a career in Sports Medicine, which led her to WVU for her fellowship training. In her spare time Katie enjoys staying active, reading, watching movies, spending time with her boyfriend and cat, and traveling."
