Bio of Self: I am from Connellsville, Pennsylvania. I went to Pitt for undergrad and WVU for medical school. I am a huge WVU sports fan. I love going to the games. I also love doing anything outdoors, especially spending the summer on the lake. 

What attracted you to WVU Anesthesia for residency? I really liked all of the Anesthesiology residents when I was a medical student here. I felt like I fit in well with them. I also enjoyed the learning atmosphere and style of the program in the sense that I never felt intimidated or afraid to ask questions. Our graduating residents have a great reputation across the country as being very clinically strong.

What makes our program unique? We have 3 large hospitals all connected as one. We do every rotation in Morgantown at the health sciences campus. We care for the entire state of West Virginia as well as parts of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, and Virginia. We get experience doing transplants. We have multiple different anesthesia fellowship opportunities. 

What do you like about living in Morgantown? There is no traffic compared to a big city. Morgantown is extremely safe. You can walk around the hospital at any hour of the day without any concerns. Cheat Lake is 10 minutes from the hospital. There are multiple ski resorts within driving distance. Morgantown has a great variety of bars and restaurants. Housing is very affordable and it’s easy to find a house with a yard if you have a dog.
