About Johnna Beane
With over 23 years experience, Johnna brings deep insight as a researcher with the Office of Health Affairs. Her specific training and experience with rural health, health policy, and public health projects lends critical support to overall research and evaluation efforts. Currently, Johnna works with the COVID-19 Evaluation Project.
Prior to her position with the Office of Health Affairs, Johnna was the Director of Community Impact for the American Heart Association, where she worked on health impact programs in clinical and community settings. She previously spent 20 years working on health evaluation and research activities in various roles at West Virginia University. She worked as an investigator and research associate on projects funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and various private foundations. Johnna's dedication has resulted in multiple achievements, including presenting results for renowned organizations, such as the National Rural Health Association, Academy Health, the West Virginia Rural Health Association, and the American Public Health Association.
