About Jonathan Gootee
Brief bio:
I was born and raised in Peoria, IL. I went to the University of Missouri for college and Creighton University for medicine. I have no ties to West Virginia, however, I was drawn to West Virginia to receive the best surgical training. The operative volume and autonomy set it apart from many other surgical programs. I am confident that I will be trained to be an exceptional surgeon at WVU.
What attracted you to WVU surgery for residency?
I have no ties to West Virginia, however, I was drawn to West Virginia to receive the best surgical training. The operative volume and autonomy set it apart from many other surgical programs. I am confident that I will be trained to be an exceptional surgeon at WVU.
What makes our program unique?
The diversity of cases and surgical volume. With Ruby Memorial Hospital caring for complex patients brought in from all parts of West Virginia, the breadth of patient experience and advanced presentations seen will give you the confidence as an attending to handle any case that presents.
What do you like about living in Morgantown?
Morgantown is a great town to live in with many hiking experiences within an hour's drive with my favorite being Coopers Rock. There are many great restaurants from Pies and Pints to Tin 202 to Bartini Prime!
