About Pamela Rodriguez
Dr. Rodriguez is an Alumna of WVU in Engineering and worked in the coal fields of West Virginia and Pennsylvania. She retired early to focus on her four children as a stay at home mom and then embarked on a third career in Nursing. She was inspired to become a nurse and nurse practitioner after her experience in and out of health facilities with her handicapped brother in the last year of his life. Her nursing career started as inpatient oncology/hospice then medical-surgical nurse with telemetry. Dr. Rodriguez promotes the importance and value of nursing certification and was an Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) for the first part of her RN career and then became Certified Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (CMSRN), the latter of which she still holds. She went on to complete her MSN - Family Nurse Practitioner and worked in Internal medicine where she continues to practice. Her DNP focused on diabetes mellitus type 2 patients which was completed in 2019. She joined the nursing faculty at WVU School of Nursing in Fall 2021. Dr. Rodriguez is excited to be in Morgantown and working with future nurses at WVU. She enjoys sewing, crafting, tinkering, and partaking in the beautiful natural wonders of West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Ohio.
