Edgar Petras was born and raised in Western Pennsylvania who is excited to return to Appalachia. He completed his undergraduate degree in Psychology and Theatre Performance at the University of Delaware, Medical School at the University of Maryland where he served as Class President, and completed a combined residency in Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics at Indiana University. He is excited to continue the tradition of learning and working for a state institution, and is thrilled at the opportunity to bring world-class Pediatric Emergency Care to Morgantown at the new Children’s Hospital and throughout the state and region. While not at work, he can be found on the hiking trail with his growing family, in the garden, or watching the Penguins. Culinary specialties include (but are not limited to) risotto, exceptional burgers, homemade pasta sauces, and fresh-baked bread.
